Anticipation Guide: The Chrysalids

Statement: 3. Conformity leads to a better society.

I disagree with this statement. The fact that people are individuals is a good thing because people have different things to contribute to society. Its good to have different opinions, especially when there are bigger decisions, that will impact lots of people (gvt). It is also good that people have different perspectives on things, because if we were all the same, we would all have the same mind and the same thinking. We would only have single ideas, perspectives, and opinions on a matter. People have different intrests, witch is why today, we have lauyers, bankers, teachers, scientists, engineers, vets, doctors, garbage men, custodiens, and the list goes on. Everyone being unique makes the world an interesting and exiting place.

The Death Of Cinna The Poet

Cinna The Poet: Killed From misunderstanding
By Amandius Clarkius

Yesterday afternoon, Cinna the poet was murdered. Angry citizens did this arond the northern streets of Rome, when Cinna was walking, on his way to Caesar's funeral.

Cinna was innocintly walking to pay his respects to Caesar, at his funeral. Sources say a crowd of people came across this man on the street, and started questioning him about who he was, what he was doing, and where abouts he lived.

They found that his name was Cinna, and he was a bachelor. Once the crowd heard his name was Cinna, they knew he could have been the conspirator that helped murder ceasar, so they became a mob, and beat gim to death.

"I Am not the conpirator," cried Cinna, "I am the poet, and love Caesar with all my heart, as a brother!" these are the words I, myself heard him scream, from streets away, befor the people did aeway with him.

A witness talks to The City Beat, "I wasn't sure if he was the conpirator or not, but his name was Cinna so I did not try to stop the people. I was not a part of the murder though."

One of the following participants speaks his thoughts, "Yae, Cinna was his name! He must've been one of the conspirators that helped to kill our leader! T'is why he had to die also!" That must've been what they all were thinking.

I'm Amandius Clarkius, with The City Beat.
Thankyou.

Cinna is a poet and he does know it- assignment 3

O, Caesar,you were like a brother
I surely know there will never be another
As strong, noble, and just as you
The people live on, the songbirds still coo

But I, Julius, will never be the same
I saw them stab you, you were not to blame
I saw the blood and the look on your face
When brutus plunged, in then took the knife out

I stood there and watched
In horror I saw
The best man alive was murdered, and I in aw
And the nerve of that last man
He was your best friend
I guess, for the love of Rome, your friendship had to end

Though you were sometimes arrogant, you also carried pois
You had no fear, and a big triumphant vioce.
Your wealth power, and pride were greatly shown
You, of all people, were the born leader of Rome

-Julius Caesar, I will not forget thee.

Assignment 2- Julius Caesar Act 1

Hello Rome! This is Amanadius Clarkius with the Roman Rain weather news! If you are looking out side right now, you may not believe your eyes. Never before has there been fire pelting down from the heavens like this! A common slave hath just passed me and his left hand has the flame of twenty torches! Many men were spotted walking as gliding gosts of pillars of fire, yet were alive and did not burn. Also, a man in the streets, I heard, hath not put up his sword yet a lion passed who glared upon him, and went surly by with out even a growl. I myself saw this lion with my very eyes! It was a beastly large creature, but was tame! Night fowl have been out after day break shrieking and hooting! what has become of the dark skies? O, and these extrordinary events? Some say these are only but natural occerences that are not common. Are these events coresponding in the heavens, with those that are happening politicaly, here in Rome? Only time will tell down here.

For now, this is Amandius Clarkius for the Romain Rain weather news!

Blog assignment 1- Silent reading Book Introduction

The author of this crazy, awesome book is obviously Alice Sebold lol you can see, right there in the picture. She has published three books: "Lucky" (1999), "The Lovely Bones" (2002), and "The Almost Moon". She won the American Booksellers Association Book of the Year Award for Adult Fiction in 2003 and the Bram Stoker Award for First Novel in 2002.

The book that I'm reading, "Lovely Bones", is about a 14 year old girl named Susan Salmon. She gets murdered by one of her suspiciously quiet, yet unsuspected neighbours. Susie tells the horrific story of how the man rapped, and killed her, from where she is now; her heaven. In heaven, she observes family life after her death, on earth. She can see how every one she knew is dealing with living with out her. She also reviews the mans life as a child. Meanwhile, from what i have already read, Susie's dad is first suspitious about Mr Harvey; her unknown killer, when they havew an eveing chat and he insists mr. Salmon leavs. Then he just knows it was him that did it. Now he just needs to covince the rest of the family, and the doubtful detective, working on the case.

The the main 2 places that this novel happends in are heaven (the dorms and courtyards), and Susie's normal every day places like her school, her house, her neighbourhood, the the cornfeild where she dies. Her death happends on December 6th, of 1973. The book happends over a period of weeks, and months. The atmosphere of the story is very sad, and gloomy; in a dark sort of way. It is mysterious for the rest of her family because they still have yet to find out who killed they're daughter and sister.

Susie is the protagonist from the book. She is the main charactor. I would describe her as caring. (pg94) When she found her brother choking in the back yard one day, when he was with his friend Nate, she got him and ran to the car and actually drove (illegally) to the hospital for him. I would also describe her as brave. She was walking home through a cornfeild by her self, and actually went into this underground room with an older man she didnt know very much about. she also answered very personal questions without very much hesitation.

This book so far is very very well writen. It has suspense, family life, sad events, happy events, mysteries, crimes, and love. I am really enjoying this book because it makes me want to keep reading all the time. I love everything about this book so far. it is very appealing to people like me. :D
